@help I'm trying to change the default behavior for posting from WordPress to micro.blog. WordPress just plain wants us to use post titles – it looks better there – but I don't want to always send micro.blog users to WordPress, particularly when the post as a whole, including title and text is, is <280 characters.
I asked you about this a couple of months ago, and you said nope. I'm (a) reiterating the request here. Maybe make it a user-configurable setting?
(b) Suggesting an alternate solution: IFTTT > Webhooks -> micro.blog. IFTTT and Webhooks are already supported in microblog; I wonder if there is some syntax that will grab the first 280 characters regardless of whether the post is titled?
Whatever you decide is fine with me. (I'm thinking of moving to micro.blog for hosting anyway, even though I'm paid up on wordpress.com for $48 through nearly the end of the year. WordPress is too damn fiddly.)
(Also parenthetically: A friend expressed some interest in moving off of Facebook. She is COMPLETELY nontechnical, just interested in sharing stuff with her friends. I suggested micro.blog and ... I couldn't think of any other alternatives for someone in her situation. Everything else requires at least SOME technical skills, or is a silo.)
