If AI is going to take over text based content then how will you stand out?
You need to dominate videos. Show your human side in an authentic way that much harder to replicate.
Platforms will also boost this content more since it’s easier to make “Ai free”.
@joshl That's a big "if." AI so far has proven good at generating short blocks of text—200 words or so at most. It also produces bullshit, including SEO text. AI won't produce a good 500+ word article, or book. And there's no evidence to suggest it ever will.
Correct. Without help AI won’t generate good longer blog posts.
But what’s also true: Pair AI with a semi decent writer and they can 10x quality SEO output.
The flood has already started. Google results are degrading in real time over the last year.
@joshl Even for commercial writing, SEO will only get people to your page. It won't write convincing copy.
OTOH, just this weekend I was looking for tips on how to get cat vomit off shoes (not kidding) and shaving cream off a mirror without leaving streaks. ChatGPT had excellent suggestions (use dish soap for both). Google search was completely useless.
@MitchW I think this was my point. Text search based SEO is dying. AI is speeding that along. Chat GPT doesn’t attribute answers.
So if you had SEO as your main traffic source for lead gen… be prepared to come up with something else.
@joshl Interesting. Just this morning, I heard an interview with the CEO of SquareSpace saying SEO is already dead as a traffic source for lead gen, at least for small businesses. It's all social now. I expect that's only for B2C.
