Apple notes and freeform are probably better than obsidian and it’s canvas for 90% of people.

@ChrisJWilson are you using them both ? I would be interested in your experiences. Freeform seems to be buggy and lacking features on its own. Combined with notes, it does work
@Munish I think Freeform has a lot of potential but it definitely feels like a 1.0 app with a few rough edges and limitations. There are so many options and possible combinations when you look at third party apps and Apple’s apps in the various related categories. From text-centric notes to diagraming to mind-mapping to do-it-all type apps.
I kind of imagine it as a playground with each app being a ride. So easy to end up going from app to app.
@Denny we tried using Freeform for our Mothership game. It was great, because it was so easy to build a game board on the fly. Unfortunately, one of our players’ OS on both phone and desktop was too dated to use it. ☹️
@Denny totally agree. I wish it had some of the features of apple notes. Nebo has it over Freeform right now.
@Munish Good points, It certainly is a buggy but i’ve found it much quicker for data entry than canvas. And you’re right about not combining well with notes but again, I’m not sure most people need it to work like that (I may be wrong of course. And there’s always canvas/other options for people who need more).
@ChrisJWilson Multiple teachers at Cornhill Scotland (where I studied) are using Freeform in the classroom in place of a whiteboard. It’s proven to be really useful for that.
