Update on iOS 14 battery woes: turns out it’s any widget with location data. So maps, weather with your current location, etc. Turn those off and your phone will be back to normal battery consumption.

@yorrike Thanks for posting this. I only had this happen once, by the time I noticed I was down to 30% power by Noon and I hadn't really used the iPhone. I thought I had not placed the phone on the charge plate correctly the night before.

@yorrike I use the weather widget. Haven’t noticed any significant battery loss.

@pratik Does it use your current location or have you set it to a city?

@pratik Huh. It doesn’t seem to be a huge problem, but a handful of people on Twitter are having the problem. I have an XR, a friend of mine on Twitter has a new SE. I expect this will be fixed with 14.1. I need to post a report.

@bradenslen Yeah, same. I normally run my XR in low power mode because with regular use it lasts 2 days between charges. I was down to 55% at noon. Since removing the location stuff it’s back to normal. Such a weird bug.

@yorrike My XR just updated to iOS 14.01 or something last night. I'm hoping that has a fix.
