I got the broken phone replaced under warranty yesterday after spending a week each using an SE and 8 as replacements. While I missed the Max’s larger screen and better cameras, I think I prefer TouchID and the old control center gestures that went with it to FaceID.

@mpospese I have the hardest time getting Control Center to appear when swiping down from the corner. So frustrating.

@mpospese I’ve thought about downgrading so I can have Touch ID again. Face ID isn’t reliable enough and it drives me crazy sometimes.

@macgenie it’s interesting how different people have different experiences and preferences. I always found Touch ID very unreliable; I’ve had to re-train it many times, almost like my fingerprint gets randomized. But Face ID has always been quick and reliable. (I currently have Face ID on my iPhone XS Max, but Touch ID on my iPad Pro.)

@walter I’m constantly swiping up from the bottom hoping for control center but bringing up the task switcher instead. Hard to undo all those years of muscle memory.

@macgenie same here. Also while I love the larger screens, I never liked the slippery rounded edges of every phone from iPhone 6 on. Still love the way the 5/5S/SE feels.
