@manton What do you think about having a discounted 5-year plan on micro.blog similar to what write.as offers? I think it could help.

write.as also runs a discount on top of that 5-year plan every year and it seems to give them a great influx of new as well as committed Pro subscribers.

@uncertainquark I like it! I always like nice even numbers, so if we made it $200 for 5 years, that would be about 1/3 off. Thoughts?

@manton That would work for me. A lot of these longer term plans have additional benefits too. A private Discord, VIP support, special supporters page, a badge, etc.

@Mtt A special supporter pin would be neat. We did that for Kickstarter backers.

@manton $200 instead of $300 over 5 years for the base plan and $400 instead of $600 for Premium sounds pretty good to me. Although I think bundling some neat extras would sweeten the deal. For example, write.as provides a total of 10 blogs on the 5-year plan instead of the usual 3 you get on a yearly/monthly subscription. If no extras, then maybe the 5-year plan directly gives you Premium at $300 or $350.

@uncertainquark We can't easily include multiple blogs because of the way everything is structured in Micro.blog. We've thought about a multi-blog plan but most people only need 1 blog, so I think it makes the pricing more confusing. Will give it some thought.

@manton Yep, I wasn't clear. The blog example was write.as specific but given to make the larger point. Either way, a 5-year plan for $200 sounds great to me.

@manton BTW, in case you haven't seen, you'll be proud to know that write.as is taking inspiration from micro.blog for their newly launched remark.as community space.
