Even putting aside the long list of gripes about how Elon Musk ran Twitter into the ground, I’m worried about his influence on the 2024 election. Meeting with Trump to potentially fund his campaign. Twitter overwhelmed with misinformation. It feels precarious.

@manton All the major social networks are overwhelmed with misinformation. Twitter(X) is just the only one people focus on. The others are just as bad, really. It's nice here because the community is so small, and most people keep their politics elsewhere.

@manton Luckily I think it is very unlikely Elon is going to give Trump and substantial amounts of money. He has met with several candidates about “funding their campaign” and nothing has ever come of it.
