I’m replacing a single-cup Kurig-type brewer that lasted less than 6 months. I’m doing coffee right this time. I never took technique seriously. Why, when you’re fixing so-so taste with cream and sweatener? Small changes in technique wowed me on the first try. ☕️

@strengthentheverbs how are you moving forward? Pour over? French press? Glad to hear you're moving on and moving up.

@nonjo I ordered a Kalita Wave pour over and a gooseneck kettle. Who knows how long they'll take to arrive! In the meantime, I'm making do with a French press because it's what I have. Thanks for asking! What's your favorite method?

@klandwehr I'm trying random, small improvements: Let boiling water cool, don't touch the plunger to the coffee while it's brewing (French press), skim the foam off the top (if you don't like bitterness), etc.

@strengthentheverbs Oh very nice! I usually do a Bodum pour-over with La Columbe coffee around 13:1 water to beans ratio. I too finally got a gooseneck kettle, and it makes a big difference. We've been doing French press forever (still great), and I also have a Melita #4 size ceramic pour over for use with paper filters. I think you'll be very happy!

@strengthentheverbs I think you'll love the Goose neck kettle it makes pouring easier. I am currently messing with grind size and temperature of water to get the perfect cup using a aeropress. I just saw that adding a pinch of salt helps with bitterness, I haven't tried that have you?

@klandwehr I have not tried adding a pinch of salt. I'll try that. Thanks for the tip!
