@stickmandiaries Is it a Withings Body+ weight? Looks like the one I’ve got.

@odd it is indeed a withings scale I’ve had it since 2009 and love it..

@stickmandiaries Scale, thanks! (In Norwegian we call them “personvekt” (person weight)).

@stickmandiaries I think most of the Withings scales look similar, with different displays and internals.

@odd ohh I like that “person weight” 😀

@stickmandiaries Haha, yes, we use a person weight to measure the persons weight. ⚖️

@odd but what do you call other kinds of scale, e.g. for food?

@dejus A food scale is called «kjøkkenvekt». (Kitchen weight), and it’s of course not the weight of the kitchen! 😅 We do however use «skala/skalaen» (scale/the — scale) in other areas of measurement, like Richterskalaen, toneskalaen and UV-skalaen.

@odd thanks, fascinating. Makes sense for different words for different kinds of scale (mass vs other measurements).

@stickmandiaries @odd I also have the Withings Wi-Fi Body Scale, since 2012. I've had to re-pair it a couple of times, and everytime I go through that convoluted process, I think, "Maybe I should buy a new scale..." Also, I have to dust it regularly. It's like a dust magnet. 😒

@jean I’ve only had to pair mine only once since the initial time. (I’ve had mine for a year), and that was because of a WiFi password change. It is a dust magnet all right.

@jean @odd the only way to not have to dust is daily stepping on it, but that then just transfers dust to other parts that then need vacuuming; which then means more exercise. Hey presto the circle is complete 😀

@stickmandiaries Good thinking! 😅 There’s no denying that I need more exercise!
