Looks like the username autocomplete algorithm prefers former usernames (in this case, two former, no longer valid, versions of @stickmandiaries username) to the current version (which appears third!). // @manton @cheesemaker

@smokey hmm. Yeah we use a local username cache to make it not always have to wait for the server for a response as you type. The cache must not be getting cleared out regularly. How long ago did you change your user name?
@cheesemaker You mean how long ago did @stickmandiaries change his? Tom, do you remember when you did that?
Searching DDG and Google, I’m finding references to @stickmancometh and @stickmanlives only in December 2018 (e.g. here and here), and the current name thereafter.
(In a strange quirk, stickmancometh.micro.blog still exists, with posts through 29 Dec, but says “Follow @stickmandiaries on Micro.blog”, so it’s associated with the current username. There is no equivalent stickmanlives.m.b, and stickmandiaries.micro.blog includes all those posts, as well. I don’t know if that is somehow affecting the autocomplete algo or just, well, a strange quirk?)
@smokey i can confirm it was indeed 29th December 2018. Apart from that I don’t have a clue. //@cheesemaker
