@Gaby Thanks for the mention! It's very heartening to know that I'm not the only one struggling through decisions on the social media morass. I'm with you in being conflicted about Instagram, and have stayed off it in recent months -- but I'll probably get back into it over the next week or so. Such a tough call, given it's part of the Facebook Evil Empire. :(

@garciabuxton No, thank to you for sharing your post in the first place. It’s good to know i am not alone with the struggle. Another one that ha been added in the last 12 hours is whether to keep my hosted WP or keep hosting here in Mb. 😩

@Gaby @garciabuxton Oh that familiar feeling, weighing the benefit of the deeply flawed mainstream system against said flaws. I have been thinking about that ever since I joined Micro.blog and I don't think we're alone in this.

@simonwoods @garciabuxton the thing is my reasons for looking back to WP are very simple things like, I kinda like the themes and some options better on WP. My writing to posting workflow is better if I use WP. I write everything in Ulysses (or iA Writer lately) organize images anywhere I want to and post directly from the app. With Mb, unless I’m doing it wrong, it becomes a little more “complicated”.

@Gaby My issues with WP are certainly less of a conflict as compared to the big silos of social media; I find it a lot easier to recommend WP, for sure.

For the silos, there is still conflict as a I mentioned earlier; there are still so many times when I see people on there, whether it's Twitter or anything else, and they're posting in such a positive way and I miss it. The good side of those platforms certainly make it easier to dismiss them due to the bad side. Like people, really!
