Everybody hates their printer, right?
I mean, there isn’t a printer that’s actually good, is there? Because if so, I would like to know about that.

@mdrockwell I've been in computer science for more than 25 years and I have yet to see the perfect printer. There is always issues...
@mdrockwell We certainly hate ours… it actually worked great for a couple of years and then suddenly it stopped taking requests from our Linux and Mac machines. No updates available because Samsung sold their printer division to HP who immediately dropped support for every model. We've spent years now relying on a USB stick to print or scan anything 😢
@mdrockwell I’ve never had a printer I truly liked and had no complaints about since the last dot matrix I ever owned (and even it had its quirks). Apparently the ink tank style printers are better as the nozzles are more resistant to drying out, but that’s just what I’ve heard.
@numericcitizen The first printer I ever had was the best one. It was an early HP DeskJet model from 1995.
@ohBananaJoe if it helps, I have an Epson, it’s been 100% fine for years bar the 8 million £ on ink.
@ohBananaJoe I agree, all printers are now all trying to be too clever. “Just print” please 😀
@mdrockwell Brother laser printers are considerably less shitty than everything else on the market.
@mdrockwell I decided to go with this one, as per Wirecutter's recommendation:
@rishabh Remember paying for an inkjet printer for 500 CA$ and yes it worked pretty well.
