@chipotle Good analysis of the potential of each platform. I’m encouraged by @mantis’s deliberative approach to feature development & suggest community management is a added value in the $5/month for hosted blogs. Hopefully others would perceive that value, too.

@chipotle Yes, it was supposed to be @manton. I kinda wish the iOS client could suggest usernames (at least people you follow) so autocorrect errors like that wouldn’t happen. Slack & Tweetbot do this, for example.

@chipotle It’s not a perfect comparison, but the paid hosting here reminds me a bit of the paid options LiveJournal had in its early days, where users could purchase additional avatars, hosted image libraries, and other features. The high quality of conversation is similar, too.

@schuth it's definitely not a bad comparison. LJ has been on my mind over the last year due to its much greater controls for privacy/engagement than any modern social network seems to have.
