Any recommendations on privacy based email hosts? Preferred with calendar included.
@bradenslen If you aren't looking for a service that can ignore US Gov. subpoenas, I've been very happy with Fastmail. Here's their security and privacy page.
@Bruce At one time I would have preferred hosting in the US. Sad to say, I no longer have that same level of trust. I'm not so sure anyone in power in the US is actually following the rule of law anymore. That said, I have the most boring email inbox.
@bradenslen I use ProtonMail. They have a calendar feature in beta now. I also use ProtonVPN. Note: I am using a paid level not the free level.
@ronguest Thanks. I've been looking at them, but they are not very specific about features, so thanks for letting me know about the calendar. Do they have alias addresses?
@bradenslen Yes, at least on the paid plans they do. They also support custom domain names on paid plans. So my domain is set to use ProtonMail to service the accounts on my domain. It would be good to dip your toe in before committing. Oh, they also support Linux if that matters to you and on macOS ProtonMail integrates directly with the native Mail app. On iOS you have to use their client.
