I wish Instagram wasn’t owned by Facebook. I really like the network, the people I follow, and photography in general. I hate their business model though, the advertising side of it is just getting worse and worse.

@matpacker You and I think the same way. I loved it in its early days on iOS when it was purely a simple place for cool, square-shaped photos. It has been so diluted and corrupted that it's almost unrecognisable.

@matpacker Ditto. I stopped posting over a year ago but still open the app periodically to check in on a few feeds. But I’ve been un-following on IG steadily and will likely delete the app before long.

@ronguest yeh, I’m so close to deleting as well, but there just aren’t any decent alternatives to Instagram now that flickr sucks again. I couldn’t ever get into 500px, I post a little bit to VSCO’s community, but again there’s not much in the way of “community” there either…

@matpacker I had the same experience. I got my hopes up a bit that the new Flickr might fill the need. It was the first social platform I really used (this was 10 years ago before it went off the rails). But the new Flickr doesn’t seem to have made this angle a priority.
