In part because of this post at Six Colors, I started using Backblaze again. Years ago, I was using it and my credit card expired, but I missed the reminder email, causing them to delete all my backups. I was so frustrated that I refused to sign back up. Time heals all wounds.

@jasonekratz Yeah, I pay for that with Dropbox too. Doesn't add too much for the extra peace of mind.

@manton ..and I’m at the stage where I’m ready to throw Backblaze in the river because it seems to keep locking up my MBP every morning for some reason. 😡

@manton @iChris Arq pointed to your own storage or their cloud, is a good alternative.

@mcg @iChris I did use Arq for a while and liked it. I forgot they added the built-in cloud subscription option.

@mcg I am using Arq on both Mac and Windows OS and have been for about 2 years. Quite happy with it. I don’t use their cloud though. It’s pointed to AWS Glacier storage and local NAS.
