I finished all my ebooks and other ones I wanted are on long hold waits. We can’t pick up physical books coz libraries are closed. So now I’m reading Agatha Christies which are somewhat available coz there are so many 📚

@pratik If you’ve got an iPhone, search for “free classics” in iBooks, and you’ll get a few, but it used to be there were a lot of there…not sure why.
@pratik Oh, I see. Sorry to hammer on this. I’ve got so many unread books now, (audiobooks also), that they could probably outlast the pandemic, but my eyes get tired quick, and the brain wanders. 🥱🤤
@odd Audiobooks was something I listened to during my commute which no longer exists. I still have one pending with couple of hours to go. Just can’t sit still to finish it.
@pratik I listen to audio books while making dinner, washing dishes and I try to listen to at least a half an hour before bed, so I am almost always doing something else while reading. I am not sure if I could just sit and listen to a book.
@klandwehr Yup. But I’ve to do something that doesn’t need my conscious attention like driving, cycling, etc. I tried sitting in my backyard and listening to it but not for too long.
@pratik One of the things I didn't realize when I bought my first Kindle last year was how easy it is to borrow from the local library (even if there is a wait). Unfortunately, I also keep buying discounted Kindle books much faster than I can read them. (I also bought an inexpensive Agatha Christie book.)
@pratik It's frustrating, isn't it? We need entertainment at no time more than right now, and our only library option is digital. I live next door to a library and I keep thinking of all the books sitting in disuse.
@strengthentheverbs The library at my in-laws is now open for curbside pickup for books you can request via holds. I wish Austin did that too.
@pratik That would be awesome and bring a small amount of normalcy back to life. However, how are libraries cleaning and disinfecting the books?
