I’m wholly unimpressed that over the last 2 years I’ve become a PostgreSQL expert. Psql was always the other DB. I’ve always been happier in MySQL or SQLite. But just like vi over eMacs, the OSS community and their corporate backers chose the other as the default.

My iPad Pro from 2020 has been pretty unusable since I broke the screen and had it replaced. So instead of paying NZ$500 to have it replaced again, I bought a base level A16 big standard iPad for NZ$520 off TradeMe. No Face ID, but otherwise it’s just perfectly good. In Star Trek The Original Series there were 7 main characters. In TNG there were 7 (8 including O’Brien). DS9 had 8. Voyager had 8. However shows like Game of Theones has hundreds. The Witcher has dozens. It’s too many people to keep track of. People lose track and interest.

This week I installed Kubuntu with KDE Plasma on an old laptop. And my god, it’s the real deal. It’s surprisingly good. Maybe I switch?
