I’ve seen a lot of “whoa” not only in this project but in several that I’ve toured. But, in general, they are often done for “good” reasons. Window stops are more often than not nailed in because it’s faster/cheaper. Then, the seems caulked so the trim looks prettier/cleaner. Like one sculptured piece. I’m doing it this way because, Steve Jobs once remarked, “design is not how it looks, design is how it works”. It takes a lot more time now but saves time and hassle down the road. Makes it so anyone with a philips screwdriver can remove the stops and basically take the entire window apart if needed (and put it back together again). A cheap one at that. So no great shakes. The door knob I’m trying to get to work came out of a Nother house from the same period. It was actually from the servants quarters of a local mansion.
