@manton This is a good move. I saw this just a few hours after I opened an account with an EU hosting company in a first step to move! I don’t know what you’re seeing but I do know that on this side of the Atlantic, lots of individuals and companies are evaluating what services and products they are buying from the US and actively seeking alternatives. @maique ye for business we do it like that and it works well. For our home electricity, we can download a csv file with our half hourly usage over the last year. Someone has built an online tool https energypal.ie that you can then upload this file to and based on your usage and the various tariffs that the electricity companies have, tell you what the best offer is for you.

@patrickrhone This is what I try to do. We pick up a paper copy most weeks of the FT weekend edition. Same for the Irish Times. There is enough reading in these for the entire week. I think the FT is the best English language newspaper. To get out of the English language bubble, I have a sub at the moment to the French language online only left leaning Mediapart whose coverage on the Middle East is better than anything I’ve read in English. The Guardian, I think, is not as good as it used to be. We’ve also completed stopped watching news on TV.

@Miraz here’s one way I’m using it personally. I have a specific health issue which isn’t particularly common and which doctors in general don’t seem to have a lot of interest or expertise in. So, I try and keep an eye on any research that gets published. I’ve experimented with creating an expert GPT and uploading research and same as a Claude project. The end result is that I can ask much better questions when I meet with a doc and ask for specific tests that had never been suggested. It’s been very helpful. Also, recently, I’ve been uploading research to GoogleNotebook LM and generating an audio podcast discussion and this is just completely mind blowing.
