I've even read small chunks in ancient Greek when I was a classics student at Aurehøj back in the late seventies. </p>\n\n<p>One is struck by how fresh the narrative is even today. In particular, the portrait of the hero is quite nuanced. He is clever and full of good ideas, but also sometimes makes mistakes. He cares for his friends and family but is rather cold to the well-being of his enemies. He seeks justice while his thirst for vengeance finds no mercy for the innocents who suffer as collateral damage.
