@stephtara I have a couple of Day One buddies who are still finding sync errors introduced during the most recent AWS outage when Day One was down for so long. I left Day One because whenever I would edit a mobile-first entry on the web and save, it would lose location and timestamp data. This was 6 months ago and I don't know if that's been fixed or not. Apple Journal seems to do the basics well enough. But then I'm no power user.

@techlifeweb I've been happy with the Thule Accent 23L backpack. It checks most items on my list: fit under airline seats, hardshell compartment, hold 16\" laptop, dedicated tablet sleeve, weather proofing, chest strap and water bottle pocket. It's been great. Though I am now shopping again (and stumbled upon your note here) as I have some new audio/video pieces I need to make room for. Currently considering another Thule model or something from Wandrd. There are so many bag options these days!

@kissane It has been sad to watch the footprint for books shrink at our local CostCo. It was fun to see all of those kids' board book sets all next to each other and compare them. They were certainly an easy impulse buy for families.

Sounds like CostCo will only sell books around the holidays. I know this stings a bit for some publishers and certainly for readers, but I love how much more important the indie bookstore & library channels just became.

Per that last message I re-shared… I love the idea of things going back to “blogging”. Those were a few good years online, just enough friction to keep the bots and crap out and creative enough that you can do whatever you want regardless of what any platform wants to do.
