@jack honestly the best social expirence on the Internet right now is a creator (e.g. A Twitch streamer's) or topic driven Discord channel. Probably because the communities artificially cap themselves at a certain size but it is still large enough to have a diverse social experience.

🎬 We took our kids to see The Kid Who Would Be King. It is an earnest take on the modern children’s fantasy genre. My older kids enjoyed it but my youngest found it too suspenseful. I thought the costume and set design was terrific. 👍

@soypunk (I should note that my ONT is installed on the exterior of my home and I just really don't feel like crawling around underneath the house just to run a cable so I can eliminate a piece of hardware that hasn't really given me any trouble. I switched their router into bridge mode and never looked back.)

@danielpunkass this is true as long as you can get cat-5 from the ONT to your own router. if you only have coax coming into your home then you need their router AFAIK (but you can put into bridge mode and then just use your own router anyway.)

@bennorris Transit is venture funded and as far as I know their model is to get acquired. They do have several partnerships with transit agencies to be \"their\" mobile transit app: Boston, St. Petersburg (Florida) are two I know of. I believe one of their investors is linked to one of the major scooter companies as well. All this is to say - mostly because of the public partnerships - I don't believe they are doing creepy things with your location data but I'm not certain.

I needed to test my django web project locally over an SSL connection and I was about to just tunnel it when I thought I’d see if there was a Python package to do it. django-sslserver does the trick.

@soypunk and TiddlyWiki follows this too... something like DokuWiki is trying to be a general purpose Wiki kit but TiddlyWiki is all-in on being a personal notebook. For IM tools I prefer more opinionated software.

@jack agreed - as a product manager (well, one of my titlea anyway) I can appreciate defensible intentionality even if I disagree with the outcome/analysis.

Related: I spent a bit of time converting from Hugo to Blot and it feels like Blot is more opinionated about blogging while Hugo is about trying to be a general purpose static generation tool. Both have perfectly fine approaches and I'm intending to use both going forward (Hugo for work projects that need a CMS and Blot for my blog.)

@jack yeah, it is an official plugin written by the main TiddlyWiki maintianer. it is ... tersely documented but seems reasonably straightforward if you know your way around things like AWS.
