@gr36 I watched Brandon Sanderson and Dan Wells talk about just that in their podcast today, and it’s a tough one. I have tried out generating ideas for blog posts, and there are some genuinely good things between all the bland crap.

I know that schools here have a lot of problems with students using chatgpt to write essays, and that’s only getting worse. I don’t think that AI’s are able to do creative writing yet, but they may be at one point. And that’s scary.

@alexandra I have lost a lot in the process too, I think the real count is way over 1000, but yeah, it is a tough job! I do it because I find gems amongst all the bad stuff, but even with the bad stuff, I can add something to my ideas so I can write something better.
\nI don’t know when I will finish this project, if ever, but so far the good outweighs the bad :)

\nI had a tweet deleter toss everything older than a month set up then. Kept important stuff in my Journey journal, the rest went poof. (The whole account too).

So I can see the need for a backup without such a process in place.

I’m such a weirdo. I’m easily distracted and overwhelmed. So simplicity is the keyword.

Writing a novel is a serious commitment. I always thought it took motivation to write, but I was wrong. It’s the love for storytelling, for letting characters find their way on paper and the desire to see their story complete.

I love to make a ritual out of writing. I set out my planner for notes, open my pomodoro timer, close every other app, and then close my eyes for some deep breaths and then I write.
