In any case most people except the very motivated are just going to look at it and then go make an Alison Roman-ed version of it (totally fine. Just don’t pretend you invented it)
People who are *really* into it ask more specific questions. ‘I really want to make pad kee mao but havent found the right noodles. Where are you getting those?’ Instead of trying to replicate the thing you made but with 2 ingredients and in 10 minutes
(The barrier to entry to learning to cook a lot of ‘advanced’ Asian foods has never been lower.. but just be aware there isn’t The One Recipe)

It’s just something they know, never written down. No measurements either! You teach it / learn it by orally or by observing, ingredients and quantities are expected to change based on what you have, there is no canonical dish
