@tschak @leimon That would be great. On Mastodon, there is almost no AI slop annoying me. What is annoying a LOT more are the frequent posts of AI haters. Even if you feel indifferent about AI, you cannot escape them. They don't care about an open discussion, they just spill their hate. I started to mute them.

@manton I see. Can you catch the bogus paths (like htpasswd) on server / reverse proxy level? I use Nginx as reverse proxy, and return a 444 on all those paths (which essentially just rudely slams the door shut). Too many of them invokes fail2ban.

@manton Well, these requests usually result in a 404, instead of content pages that might need to be rendered first. Also, on my server, this is the fastest way to get fail2banned for a couple of days. 😆

@48kRAM @RetroViator That's interesting! A couple of years ago, I modded an iRiver iHP-120. When I replaced the Toshiba 1.8\" HDD with a CF adapter and a CF card, I probably should have run into the same problem.

However I used a DeLock CF to microSD adapter, and it works fine. Maybe this is an option too?

@tschak For me it was the other way around. I started with bypassing the AmigaOS, but later I only wrote compliant software. Actually, AmigaOS has a smart design and is very resource efficient. And it was way ahead of its time, compared to the contemporary Windows or MacOS.

@RenewedRebecca I agree... But to be fair, it got a lot better since the very first versions of Gnome 3. Still I think that Gnome is only usable after installing a couple of third party addons, making some changes to the configuration, and replacing a few Gnome standard tools with better ones (e.g. gedit with xed). IMHO they dumbed down the UI too much.

Considering that the 68000 went out of production long before the Z80, it's still relatively easy to get one. I don't think we will run out of them too soon.

@isotopp 5 Kilo abnehmen heißt also, 38.500 kcal Körperfett verbrennen müssen. Will ich das Ziel in 4 Monaten erreichen, wären das etwa 320 kcal täglich, die ich weniger zuführen müsste, als mein Körper verbraucht. Entweder müsste ich weniger essen oder mehr Energie verbrauchen. Beides sind keine attraktiven Optionen. 😅​

@marove Ich habe damals heißes Wasser aus dem Wasserhahn mit einer Gießkanne auf dem Teppich verteilt, bis er gut durchfeuchtet war (natürlich nicht so nass, dass es beim Nachbarn von der Decke tropft 😉​). 30 Minuten gewartet, dann mit einem Teppichcutter Rechtecke herausgeschnitten und mit einer Teppichkralle herausgerissen. So bin ich etappenweise vorgegangen, bis der ganze Teppich raus war. Den Estrich ließ ich danach trocknen und habe dann mit einer Drahtbürste den restlichen Kleber entfernt. Es hat funktioniert, aber war eine Mordsplackerei, und ich möchte das nie mehr wieder machen müssen. Vielleicht also nicht die beste Methode.

@isotopp Ich wäre ja fast noch bereit gewesen, deren UniFi Cloud Key Gen2 Plus zu kaufen, um meine Investition in die Kameras zu retten... Aber das Teil hat einen LiIon-Akku, der wohl gerne mal dicke Backen macht (Google: UniFi Cloud Key battery). Ein defekter LiIon-Akku an einem Ladegerät ist vermutlich das Letzte, was man in seiner Abwesenheit zu Hause haben möchte.

@48kRAM They say it's \"currently out of production due the chip shortage.\" Yes, I hope the other products are more robust. I also have a 2X-SCART. The picture quality of both converters is very good. Way better than the cheap China scrap you can find at Amazon.

Actually I gathered a lot of #Retro hardware this year. Finishing all these projects will certainly keep me busy for several weekends. Now the cold and dark winter days can come. 🙂
