@josephaleo The timing on their release was perfect! I am in the process of working on a small book on how to write books with Obsidian. When I got the news about the release, I was like “this is crying for a whole separate section in the book” :).

Getting an existing Obsidian vault to be used on mobile is not the easiest thing at the moment, but I am sure that they will work on making the experience smoother. I will be happy to share more of my experience as I keep using it.

@josephaleo If you have been using Evernote or any other knowledge management tool and are happy with it, I don’t think there is a reason to switch. That was my case too.

Where I find Obisidian useful are the vaults. Each vault is essentially its own folder isolated from all the rest. And since it is just a folder, you can easily copy it around, create a git repository out of it, etc. Add to that the Obsidian’s native support for Markdown, as well as its graph relation support, and you get an amazin research tool.

What I am successfully using Obidian for at the moment is book writing. Each of my books (https://p5v.gumroad.com/) is just another Obisidian vault where I keep both manuscripts ready for publishing, and my scratch notes.

@manton It seems that when images appear in the RSS with a relative instead of an absolute path, they won't be shown. Unfortunately, I can't easily trick Ghost (my blogging platform) to use absolute paths, but perhaps, I could somehow tell micro.blog from the RSS feed, telling it to construct an absolute path. @smith I used Jekyll too and left it for Ghost for pretty much the same reason, but I am thinking to make a comeback to static sites. I have recently discovered Hugo and I am just blown away by the speed, with which it built my site.

As for posting from mobile, depending on which platform you're on, you can use Working Copy on iOS to write and sync directly to a git repo. You also have good choices for basic CMS, like Forestry.

@kaa A great adivce! Now that you mention it, I realize that I have been doing this for quite a few years now. I am a curious individual, working on many,many differnt things across the span of years. Having a full-time job and being committed to my familiy leave little time for everything else. Thus, I had to learn to give up the grand expectations, and instead, focus on enjoying the micro-achievements, one baby step at a time.
