@writingslowly I use shift-option-hyphen on a Mac keyboard. On a phone keyboard I press and hold the hyphen, then pick the em-dash from the options (but I try pretty hard not to have to type that much on a phone keyboard).

I’m not so sure that there isn’t some hay to be made around insisting that AI firms should be distributing half their profits to the writers whose works they stole to train their models, but I also agree with Cory that it’d be a mistake to do that in a way that broke using the internet to provide citations for dictionaries.

Since there were no credit cards and virtually no consumer debt, ordinary people didn’t have debts to be wiped out or made ruinous

@Miraz It’s a very good book. And it may be somewhat more nuanced than my brief review gives it credit for. There’s a good bit about places (like New Zealand and Australia) where it may legit be too sunny for more than brief sun exposure. And about skin color, which also makes a big difference.

@philipbrewer But you don’t need to do that. Any reasonable variation in intensity is going to produce better health and fitness outcomes than cranking out miles at a fixed pace.

And it doesn’t have to be just cardio. You can alternate between walking and lifting and see similar benefits.
