@thebigbabooski not really, Plex I had heard of so I decided to start there. I didnā€™t like the music app from Plex, then through Mastodon I found Navidrome and a world of apps. I had also heard of Home Assistant so gave it a try. Each time Iā€™ve followed the install instructions for each one and then checked with web searches or ChatGPT if Iā€™ve gotten stuck somewhere.

@manton I can confirm Microsoft is doing it in the workplace. We have CoPilot but the poor manā€™s version that doesnā€™t integrate with the rest of the suite. A select group of people are testing the more complete version as thereā€™s little appetite to pay another company when we can get it with MS.

Very sad to hear Om Malik has died. I never spoke to Om, never expected to meet him, although I wouldā€™ve enjoyed to sit and have a conversation. His blog is one of my favourites, I have enjoyed it for many years and his recent writing has been very inspiring to me. My condolences to his family and friends.

I like the look of Lettera a new markdown writer app thingy from the folks behind Bear. I joined the beta and so far it seems very polished and working well. Some features are on the way but the skeleton is there. I opened my Obsidian vault and it seems to be working fine.

A fantastic look at the design of Japen Rail. The Japanese rail system fascinates me, it is what railways should be. Sadly, and to my dismay, the British railways are horrendous and terribly run. It is always cheaper to drive than it is to go by train which is immensely frustrating.
