@KimberlyHirsh I read this. It’s fantastic (as all of her work is) and there plenty of food for thought with no clear silver bullet answer.

I have no doubt in my mind that Beatrix is in the college she’s in today largely because of the educational choices we made for her. Especially sending her to a very well regarded private prep school versus the more diverse public high school she would have ended up at otherwise.

Not to say that she would not have gotten a perfectly fine education there. We just would have had to fight for it and her college choices likely would have been more limited.

Small Project Week has continued. I fixed the closer on our back screen door. I trimmed our hydrangea trees in front. My wife and I strategized on a couple of the other items on our list. Basically, of the 26 things on our list we knocked out about half of them. Yay us!

Personally, I don’t think there is a one-size-fits-all answer. For me, I feel equally at home in Saint Paul, MN as I do in New Orleans, LA and, strangely, New York City despite the fact I’ve never lived there (but have visited a whole lot during my life).

Even in Saint Paul we live out of two houses (long story) and both feel like (and are!) home to me .

\n

It’ll be interesting to see his thoughts as he writes more about this.
