\nA great deal of what gets treated in a hospital is the result of poor mental health, let alone the cost on productivity, potential impact on family relationships and finances, and how we view our neighbours near and abroad.
\nAnd like so many things, the sooner you can diagnose and address an issue, the less risk there is of a negative outcome.
\nI would encourage you attend an outdoor rally or event if you find one. That way you can give yourself as much space as feels comfortable. Over the last year, I have found taking small steps back into public gatherings—starting small with breaks in between—to be helpful. Even prior the pandemic, I feel mild anxiety when alone in crowds and find focusing on my breathing for a period of time to be helpful. I’m not an expert and could use some mental health care myself, so take my words with many grains of salt 😉

\nI’m sorry about your dad, too. I’m grateful that I was able to spend almost the entire last year caring for and spending time with Dad. I expect the grieving process to take years; heck, my dad’s death brought up feelings about my mom’s death 7 years prior. I’m thankfully in a stable place with family nearby which really helps.
