At one point they said “a few of us thought you could use a splash of cold water to the face.” The “few of us” is what led me to believe that it was a group of people.
The C&D itself had the name “MICRO INC” on it which clearly is not you but was also likely intended to be vague and confusing. Nevertheless, I never once attributed any aspect of it to you. Not once. If anyone jumped to that conclusion, that’s unfortunate. It’s also probably worth exploring why.
You keep asking for copies of the emails that I’ve received, but I’m ignoring those requests because those emails have nothing to do with you. You seem to believe that they don’t exist, and I don’t care what you believe. That you’d doubt me only further reveals more about your character, but ultimately my own opinion on your character matters less than that of your own customers. And *that’s* why I think you’re still angry about this. People thought you were a bully, albeit incorrectly, but here you are continuing to be a bully.
I continue to hold some hope that you’ll eventually realize that your own insistence on being “right” in the most neutral way imaginable can be shifted toward understanding the need to be *compassionate* instead. There are still people out there who were hurt by your refusal to denounce Vincent’s open bigotry, and by your refusal to make a simple clear *personal* statement of support for LGBTQ-identifying people. It’s never too late to do the right thing, though. Vincent’s recent financial support for DHH’s openly fascist movement is just another example of how you are unquestionably on the wrong side of things here, and I hope you can one day see that for yourself.

You can't have a productive conversation with someone who refuses to acknowledge real harm. And you definitely can't have a productive conversation with someone who chooses gaslighting over earnest discussion.
It was a waste of time and energy. I deleted my replies and my Bluesky account. If Manton ever wants to have a real conversation about this, I would welcome that. If he just wants to endlessly whine about my past requests to see him denounce bigotry in all of its forms (especially bigotry by another member of the Micro.blog team), which is what he's labeling \"personal attacks\", then that's his choice. Between 18:55–19:18 UTC, the server saw a massive spike in traffic and overall load. Traffic jumped from our normal baseline of ~1,500 requests/min to ~10,000 requests/min. During that time, 75% of all requests bore the User-Agent string \"Lightpanda/1.0\". Lightpanda is a headless browser engine commonly used by AI agents and other automation.
What makes this especially annoying was that these requests were spread over 38,341 distinct IP addresses. This effectively behaved like a DDoS, though it's impossible to say whether that was the goal (or if scraping was the goal). In any case, the sheer volume of unique IPs meant that the actor was able to circumvent Mastodon's usual rate limits and negatively impact the broader server performance.

The EXIF data table now includes classes for each data element, which means you can now use CSS (in your custom template) to work with those.
One practical application is only showing the fields that you care about, and hiding the others. Here's some sample CSS for that:
