@navneetalang.com we attribute that to various isms, and that may well be true. but it might also get it the wrong way around. it could be that othering is a “fundamental” and often unavoidable phenomenon, perhaps a kind of symptom of subjectivity itself, which then gets deployed in service of those isms.

@navneetalang.com Bsky‘s been nice sometimes. My experience of it = ok for some topics (U.S. politics, urbanism, sports etc.) while I wish I saw more talk of food and drink, TV/film etc, local. Could just be me, of course. Also miss certain kinds of ”diversity” relevant to me (Punjabi, 2nd gen South Asian stuff etc)
