@ZackPolanski instead we can invest the money invested for this Plantir contract to build a software in the UK and cut down the data siphoned back to US, create more jobs here (developers developing and maintaining the software) and reduce chances of abuse when relation with US goes down (preventing scopes to hold us hostage with the data).

When developing here, we need to make sure this software cannot be used by other government agencies to abuse it like ICE is doing in the US.

@david_chisnall @ChrisMayLA6 what I've seen so far, NHS has lots of waste.
- licensing fees, a lot is paid and when used procurement system, it ends up costing more
- they're not filling in permanent vacancies, using agency workers, paying agency workers lot more than they would to usual permanent staffs.
- no quality review. Staff doesn't get positive or negative incentives on their performances

Someone is probably benefitting from those licensing and agency contracts, but it's not us

@ChrisMayLA6 @MikeFromLFE in terms of licensing fees, the way they are procured (using procurement system), it inflated the price (£10 worth of product turns out to be more than that for some strange bureaucracy of procurement system). And I would like to see home students pay nothing or minimum, why do they have to pay so much for higher education!

@ChrisMayLA6 @MikeFromLFE I would like to see NHS survive for generations and provide the very services everyone needs. However as you highlighted, it needs to cut waste, like licencing fees paying to US big techs (use open source Linux, Libre office and others) , start building softwares needed and use it across the country. I've a teacher friend who works with NHS data, and as different NHS bodies uses different software, it becomes difficult for them to transform, convert and cross check data
