The scale k8s is designed for brings with it a level of complexity that makes it total overkill for home use. I run HomeAssistant and Jellyfin on a single Proxmox server, not a k8s cluster.
However, home != homelab. Running home services on k8s is one way of learning skills you need in your professional career.
Not sure if I'd make my family's goodwill depend on my container orchestration skills, but everyone has a different risk profile. 😆
