\nI have a bad habit of buying things when I’m bored at work, because it gives me something to look forward to.
\nAs soon as I hit that BUY button, I’ve already written a fantasy in my head of waiting for the package to arrive, opening it, enjoying whatever I bought.
\nThe thing is, like you said, you may not even have time to enjoy it, but to avoid buyer’s remorse, you promise to carve out the time. So in another sense, it feels like you’re literally buying time and a good experience.
\nIn the case of the books I bought, I was able to identify the point where I fell down the rabbit hole, and cut myself off. But silver lining, I do genuinely enjoy reading, and can see myself making time over the next year to work through all of them.
