@canion I moved away from them when they took on all that VC funding, as I saw it as a bad omen. I went to Bitwarden, and since then to Proton Pass. (I also didn’t want to limit myself to only Apple devices by using Apple’s Keychain/Passwords app.)

@prealpinux I’ve managed to get two people from WhatsApp over to Signal so far. I guess they look and work reasonably similarly, which helps. I also have WhatsApp only on a different phone, which I check only once every day or two (or three). Good luck. 💪

@chadkoh BTW I love that Pixelmator is thriving, and even put out a Mac version last year. Still uses Photos for the back-end, but I think iCloud Photos is likely still your best solution in the end. I share your dislike of Adobe malware.

@chadkoh That trip was my “excuse” to upgrade to the iPhone 15 Pro Max last year, for the 120mm lens. I have to have GPS-tagging on my photos, as I use the location for searching, and there (still) aren’t many cameras with built-in GPS. Considering an OM TG-7 for my pocket.

@chadkoh I feel you. I still have thousands of photos from my last big trip to go through. Do you have a preferred device and process you use to go through them? I use a basic iPad with BT keyboard (for cursor keys and shortcuts) and the Photos app, as I find it the fastest distraction-free way.

Dune: Part Two was epic, I loved it. Hans Zimmer’s score was incredible. Saw it nearly back-to-back (16 hours) with re-watching Dune, both on IMAX. It follows the book well, but of course they left out a few things, and made it more socially acceptable. 🍿
