@manton I understand the desire to make Micro.blog as accessible as possible, and I get that many people are still on X-Twitter. But Elon Musk’s leadership and the general culture on X-Twitter make it a platform I don’t feel good supporting financially or technically. I believe in free speech under the Constitution, but I also believe private services, and individual users, have a responsibility to “vote with their dollars” and attention. Recommitting resources to X-Twitter, even indirectly, doesn’t align with my values, and I’m not convinced there are that many people who’ll only try Micro.blog if they can keep cross-posting to X-Twitter. For me, this decision just leaves a bad taste.

@thomasfuchs My wife and I have tried to learn programming and struggle a lot with it, mostly due to the complexity it has become.

Like we’ve both got the basics down because back in the early-mid 2000s, when we were in high school, we learned some pretty basic programming stuff.

And then didn’t touch it for decades.

Now we’re in our late 30’s and want to get back into it…but everything is so complex and confusing. All of the courses and books and advice contradicts each other.

@ksaj @sainteckes @itsfoss so far I’m still much faster actually recording instruments or vocals in Logic. I also still prefer Logic for some mixing and all of mastering. But anything that requires midi, Ableton wins. Need to easily rearrange stuff? Ableton. Effects chains: Ableton wins.

@neil @Edent I don’t know if this is still the case but I was looking at building some stuff w/ Arduino and/or Raspberry Pi type hardware and I wanted eInk screens for them. Turns out, the eInk screens cost a lot more than regular screens. I never really found out why.
