as i have likely written before, i used to think that getting an abundance of women into positions of power would solve a lot of our problems… like many people, i believed that women were necessarily communal, loving, nurturing and kind… i believed women in power would lead with these qualities when empowered… and then along came marjorie taylor green and lauren bobert and kristy noem…

what stands out to me in the fact statement is the idea that blurring the distinction between male and female deflates the power of the patriarchy, which is the political act i am most proud of in pursuing femmaninity… especially in a moment when the patriarchy, hopefully in its death throws, is doubling down on strict gender lines… my femmaninity is my most fundamental act of resistance…

what is significant in the above quote for me is that i am proud of my journey to femmaninity… i am proud of my courage and honesty with myself and others… and i do believe i have unique qualities to bring to the worlds of men, women and every gender in-between…

i prefer to think of the continuum that is masculine-feminine in the way of yinyang… which is an ever changing gendered configuration which sometimes emphasizes masculine or feminine and other times blurs the distinction between the two… in fact, it is generally held in the philosophy of yinyang that society is out of balance if the masculine or the feminine dominates too completely for too long…

and this is a really interesting point to me… that fossil fuel, oil especially, is at the root of so many of our conflicts around the globe… that we will be less likely to make war on each other if we transition to renewables… and it will slow down the war we are making against the planet…

i finished a sci-fi book by mary doria russell titled the sparrow… an amazing book that addresses the existence of evil in the face of a benevolent god… this is a question i think about a lot… i don’t believe in god, at least not any kind of omnipotent god, compassionate or not… i come at it from a different angle… what is the purpose of compassion in a cosmos that appears to care little about good or evil except through intelligent beings?…

@todd well, so far i like the m21, though i havent been able to transfer any files to it yet… all the pathways they have given me for that have not worked… i think its mac and chrome not playing nicely together… havent had time to work on resolving… the hardware is high quality though and i am already perceiving a quality of life improvement from this experience…
