@rosskimes Having worked with a lot of schools and parents in the past, you'd be sadly surprised how often this is not the case. But, I agree that offering easier parental controls isn't a bad thing. Nintendo Switch does it quite nicely at the moment without being overly intrusive.

@rosskimes Alternatievly he could spend time teaching his kids what's expected rather than expecting technology to restrict them. For example, mine know to set their timer when they start so after 20 minutes they can take a break. They know where the iPads are to be left when not in use, and that they're not to be used in their bedrooms. Artificially restricting through technology will almost never work against kids with more time and resources than adults to break them. Better that they know what's expected and why.

@cdevroe did you use photostream or iMessage on the iPhone? Those were the things I couldn't do without when I last tried Android. Also privacy and security concerns generally (security not so much by choosing a 'Google' phone. Privacy probably still a concern).
