I think I realised this while still living in the USA when I watched Michael Moore’s “Sicko.” The Detroit River separates the USA from Canada (Detroit on one side, Windsor on the other), but the ignorance of the health care system of people on the USA side might as well be an ocean. @timberwraith understanding isn’t excusing, but I understand why they chose Trump and why we’ll continue down the spiral of fascism. The electorate is offered two increasingly bad choices that don’t deliver on their promises. Material conditions continue to suffer. At some point the proverbial frog will realise the water is boiling. At that point life will get very dangerous.

@timberwraith I’ve been thinking about this a lot lately. I come from a family that doesn’t self reflect at all. They get angry if you ask them to justify their beliefs. They’re just feelings. So, I’ve moved from Mastodon, to Micro.blog. I was hosting my own Mastodon server, it just isn’t worth $20 a month (it was raised last month from $9 to $20) to have my own domain/instance. Micro.blog is limited in what it can do, but my old mastodon.social profile will do to fill in the gaps.
