@AlSweigart Intetesting -- no. Instead I use direnv which runs arbitrary setup stuff after cd-ing, before or after activating the virtualenv as I see fit.

The restriction here, relative to your .pythonrc approach, as far as I can tell, is that I can't be in the directory with the virtualenv inactive.
