I’ve had some luck at setting up subagents in an antagonistic maker/checker/auditor loops to make sure that the LLM isn’t bullshitting me (as much, anyway).
I’ve been using Codex to migrate some hacky dataviewjs-injected JavaScript in Obsidian to a proper plugin architecture and was unpleasantly surprised to discover that it “implemented” whole object methods by just replicating the function names in the plugin and inserting a “shim” code to redirect execution back to the injected global objects I was trying to deprecate. Charming.
Downside of this approach is it’s at least 4× more expensive as it chews through tokens (which nudged me to multiple expensive upgrades to my plan). I’ve been thinking of spinning up a project to at least better account for tokens, and increasingly interested in local inference as a result…
