USB C has much more flexibility in how it delivers power, and the circuitry is much safer and more advanced.
USB C cables are bi-directional you can even send power one way, and send data the other way simultaneously. USB C also offers many more protocols than older USB cables ever could.

@mattgemmell I'm totally blind. Inkjet printers are the worst. I only need to print something a few times a year, the ink dries up. Brother lazer jet, black only, are great as you said. the only problem is mine is from 2010 so I can't get it to work on the network anymore.
