We also have to face the fact that if we had better public transport options less people would need cars in general, electric or otherwise, so I think that also needs to be a part of the plan too. There’s also the question of where your electricity comes from. Here in Quebec I can have a pretty clear conscience because all of our power comes from Hydro, not the case in large portions of the US. Let’s hope it won’t all be too late indeed.
