@patrickrhone FWIW, I’ve actually not been hating Tahoe… I haven’t seen any major performance or stability issues. I did have a storage hiccup that took some time to clean up on a mbp, but some of that was starting beforehand and just came to a head a few weeks after the upgrade. I’ve been content with i*OS 26 on my mini6 and iphone 17 pro max as well.

@davegullett I actually prefer the windowing in iOS 26, did not like the previous split screen. Not sure how you’re finding it difficult to get two-up (not saying it’s not the case!) but it’s worked for me in an intuitive manner. Never used the slide-over unless I accidentally activated it somehow.

@JonLillie I’ve really enjoyed Sanderson’s Stormlight Archive. The Way of Kings is book one. Interesting world-building, great characters, and great writing. I’ve also heard good things about the Mistborn series but haven’t started them yet.

@whoatowow Did you add a steel reinforcing plate in there? There are some available that go in parallel to the strike plates, to be installed behind the door jamb, and some that are installed perpendicular, behind the casing. Worst case, I’d replace the strike plate fasteners with 3” screws (unless these had hardened plates beneath secured with longer screws – I’ve had some that do and some that don’t).
