@carnage4life.bsky.social I’ll give you one more bit that has been huge for PMs— I can get much faster/better answers as to what our product actually does, because I can use AI to quickly explore the actual code base, then get the human documentation up to date. @carnage4life.bsky.social I went from a PM who still wrote code to deliver a small side thing 1x month to a PM who can deliver major features and refactors on a weekly basis. My value was being able to (though rarely needing to) be two vertices on the product triad— jobs won’t exist that aren’t like that going forward.

@devilgate I can understand your skepticism. As a manager who still ships code every week, there are many things to be concerned about. The productivity gains are real. It generates new and different challenges as well, but there are entire things that have shifted from “possible but not feasible” to “done before we even have that conversation”. The results are real, and very few people who have steadfastly refused can still say that it’s not a huge boost if they’ve tried things in the last 6 months. You can maintain a moral/ethical stance against it, but if you’re building nuts and bolts stuff, be prepared to lose your business on that stance.

@jarrod I think it’s the 8gb + the slower SSD that will end up making this not quite as good for some things as the original M1 machines, while being better at other things. But it’s still quite capable!

Still a lot to do, and still some pieces not working. But, I did get to add one new feature today that is visible to other folks-- a new Archive Page now with updated year filters. I also updated the About Page.
