Hacks Season 4: I do appreciate them trying something different in this season. But I appreciate even more the quick pivot when they realized that the fundamental core of the show is not a thing you try differently. 📺

Stranger Things Season 5 Watched out of obligation and felt like one every second of it. I’ve never been too high on this show, but it’s a textbook case of a story not evolving with its actors. It clings far too much to what worked in the past and feels pretty stale because of it.

Information is now a spectrum that you have to decide–sometimes on a case by case basis– how much you trust or distrust what is being told to you. AI is (probably) more accurate than asking a random person on the street, but it’s (probably) less accurate than asking an expert. Everyone (should) know not to seek medical advice from your barista, but how do you accept medical advice from someone who sounds right, is probably mostly right, but there’s no good way to confirm? We have to figure that out!

\nAs somone who (as of now) mainly blogs about media they’re watching, I think TV shows are much closer to books than movies. I’d love the same Want to Watch/Watching/Watched “shelves” that books have for seasons of TV shows. It may make sense to put TV Shows into Epilogue. I like that there are options to blog about individual TV episodes, but I think episodes are much more akin to chapters in a book. The “unit” of a TV show is a season and should be the default blogging option.

If so, those are actually native to micro.blog! If you go to the web version (I believe it’s only on the web), under each post is an “embed” link. If you click that, it’ll copy the post to look like that.
