I wear hearing aids or AirPods Pros as hearing aids every single day of my life. Even with the augmented hearing devices if someone is facing away from me, mumbling, or if there’s a lot of ambient noise I will not be able to understand what they say. For that reason I do spend a lot of time asking people to repeat themselves and lemme tell ya that it gets old. Not only for the people who have to say the same words over again, but also for me. It’s tedious and embarrassing and some times I’ll just withdraw from the conversations simplly becaujse it’s too much effort. Being able to see a transcript or a summary of what was said would be so amazing for me.
\nI understand the privacy implications, and I’m not unsympathetic to those concerns. That being said it seems locked away pretty tight based off of what I’ve read and the demos. I’m excited about the feature and may upgrade from my existing Watch to a new one for this capability alone. For people like me, this is an amazing and—assuming it isn’t laggy—a life-enhancing development.
