@manton to me it sounds like a company that wants to try to get people onboard something that is sketchy at best. I think the main selling point is that politicians, news companies, companies in the EU is starting look for alternatives to Twitter, so the timing is key here, they want get these people onboard to get momentum. Apparently the company consists of 1-4 people. My money is that will not remember this in 2027.

The problem for me is that these choices make my life more difficult/slow. And since I’m forced to use a mail client that doesn’t allow me to ignore these things, I’m getting a bit upset when I see these mails.
\nI’m not saying that well designed emails don’t exist, I’m saying that I see these horrible emails every day. I’m grateful that the majority of the people I get emails from either use plain text or some reasonable default setting
